PRC Grant Awarded

The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SACADA) is the home of the Prevention Resource Center (PRC) Region 8. PRC 8 has received a Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) grant to create a Regional Needs Assessment for the 28 counties of Region 8 in South Central Texas. PRC 8 will collect, analyze and share data on the trends, attitudes, and training in our community to help identify effective prevention resources and measure their effectiveness.

The Prevention Resource Center is dedicated to capturing the needs of the Region 8 communities by identifying the gaps in resources, current drug trends, and prevention training needs. The efforts of the PRC will be focused on the state’s Three Prevention Priorities of Alcohol (underage use), Marijuana, and Prescription Drugs, with additional information on tobacco and other illicit drug use.

Through data collection efforts and partnerships with key stakeholders, schools, and organizations, the PRC serves as an invaluable resource to all who seek relevant information as it pertains to the 28 counties of Region 8.
